Mia's Bridge

Mia 1993-2012
above picture in her prime

Mia, let us know this morning that she was too tired and too weak to go on another day.  19 years, 8 months and several days were enough for our dear Mia, a Siamese kitty.  The last four years were a struggle and with many close calls and rebounds.  A year ago I became uncomfortable with all the testing and the medications and IVs.  Tim and I decided to let Mia tell us what she wanted.  I would have gone with the meds and all again....but why?
Until late last night she was still jumping up on things...knocking over things....wanting to be held.
Then there was the change.... almost instantly .
Being only 3 pounds I brought her into our bedroom this morning and laid her on my chest.  She looked up at me and with a silent meow she told me...and I knew.

  2. Carol-So, so sorry for your loss. I hope that knowing Mia had a long life in a warm and caring home will somehow comfort you and your wonderful memories of her will sustain you.

  3. Carol...I am so..so sorry for your loss of Mia..I feel your saddness. Animals are really smarter than we give them credit. We had a ferret (he was our 3rd and they only live around 5 years) that had tumors on the pancreas and the day I knew was the same as you did with Mia...I picked him up and he was so weak and he laid his head on my chest...which was something he never did. The previous two ferrets suffered to long and I was not going to let this one suffer. Mia's passing really touches my heart..she and my cat Barney look so similar...and you leave such sweet comments when I post a picture of him. I am now drying my tears..and you will be in my thoughts over the next few weeks as you adjust to your life without Mia.

    Hugs,
    Maxie

    1. Maxi you know all to well what animals will do to our hearts....and we break a little each time one pass through our arms. Now we are down to two bengal boys (Ming and Max) and Lily the basset mix. Sure is more quite and calm as Mia was hard to care for. Max and Ming have shifted into Alpha Cat "elections" so funny to watch and listen to the debates.

  4. You could have been writing my story with Beast. She was my perfect soul mate. Loved me far move than my human kids did. Now Kitz lives with me. She is all her own person and is loved as such. Thankfully, Beastie can rest now. We will see each other again before too long. That makes me warm and happy. Kitz will be with us as well. Your music is beautiful.
